Ragi Puttu

Ragi Puttu/ Keppai Puttu / Kezhvaragu Puttu with detailed stepwise pictures. Ragi Puttu is highly nutritious and it holds a lot of health benefits. It is good for diabetes patients. It contains high amount of calcium. Ragi kanji is used to reduce weight and there are lots of variety foods made with ragi. So let's make Ragi Puttu today


Ingredients:

Ragi flour - 1 cup
Coconut - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 1/4 - 1/2 cup
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - a pinch

Method:

Take ragi flour in a pan
Add salt and sprinkle 2 tbsp water and mix like puttu flour
Add water according to the desired consistency
Heat the steamer and place the mixed ragi flour and steam it for 5-7 mins
After 7 mins the ragi flour will be steamed well
Transfer to another pan
Add cardamom powder, sugar
Add coconut, ghee and mix well
Serve Ragi puttu hot

With Stepwise Pictures:

Take ragi flour in a pan

Note:

  • You can add jaggery instead of sugar, acyually the original recipe adds jaggery but i love sugar so i a dded sugar
  • Ghee is optional , it is used to soften the puttu , you can avoid it if you dont want
  • Don't steam the puttu for long and sprinkle water in spoons
