Prawn Biryani - Full recipe with Stepwise Pictures and Video. Biryani is one of the easiest yet toughest recipe. I love Biryani 😋 I love to eat biryani and i love to try new and different biryani recipes. Every Sunday i try a new style of biryani, and tis weel i've tried this method. This is very easy and basi way of making biryani. No special masalas added, no dum..only the cooking time and adding the ingredients at a particular time to enhance the taste. Ingredients:
Basmati Rice - 1 cup
Prawns - 250 gms
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt
Curd - 1 tbsp
Green Chilli - 2
Coriander and Mint leaves - a handful
Onion - 2
Tomato - 2
For Marinating Prawns:
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
To Temper:
Oil- 2 tsp
Ghee - 2 tsp
Cinnamon - 1"
Cardamom - 1
kalpaasi - 1
Cloves - 3
Bay leaf - 1
Method:
With Stepwise Pictures:
Marinate the Prawns with the items given under "For Marinating Prawns" for 30 minutes.
Soak the Basmati Rice for 30 minutes
Heat the pressure cooker and add the items given under"To Temper"
Add Onions and Green Chilli
Saute well until onion turns soft
Add Ginger Garlic paste
Add the tomatoes and fry till the tomatoes turn mushy
Add the Coriander and Mint leaves
Saute well for a minute
Add 1 tsp of curd and mix well
Add the spice powders, salt and cook till the oil separates
Now add the prawns
Cook until the prawns oozes out water
Now add 1 1/2 cups water [ I've soaked the rice for 30 minutes so I'm adding 1 1/2 cups if you didn'/t soak the rice add 2 cups depending upon your rice ]
Boil well
Once the water comes to a rolling boil add the rice
Boil again till the biryani also comes to a rolling boil
At this stage close the cooker and cook for 1 whistle and rest for 30 minutes
Let the cooker release the pressure naturally
Biryani is ready, gently fluff up the rice
Enjoy Prawn Biryani with Raita or Gravy
