Ragi Kheer|Ragi Payasam

Ragi Kheer - Full recipe with stepwise pictures and videos. This is another easy recipe which can be made in the morning or late afternoon time. Those who hate ragi will love this kheer. Ragi can be made in many ways one such way is this kheer. When I first made this kheer, I was very reluctant to try but everyone in my home gave a thumbs-up for this recipe. So, I thought to share this recipe with all of you. Let's get started.



Recipe Video:

Ingredients:
Sago (small variety ) - 1/2 cup
Ragi - 1/2 cup
Ghee - 1tbsp
Cashews - 1 tbsp
Raisins - 1 tbsp
Milk - 2 cups
Sugar - 4 tbsp
Cardamom Powder - 1/4 tsp

Method:
Soak the sago/javvarisi for 2 hours [ under the sun if possible ] and cook by adding
1 cup water
Heat 1 tbsp ghee and add 1 tbsp cashews
Once it turns golden add 1tbsp raisins
Now add 1/2 cup ragi and roast well
Once the ragi is roasted well add 1/4 cup warm water and mix well to avoid lumps
Now add cooked sago to the ragi mixture, mix well
Add 2 cups milk and cook
Stir continuously to avoid lumps
Cook for 6-7 minutes
Add 4 tbsp sugar and cook until the sugar dissolves
Add 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
Once the kheer thickens remove from flame

With Stepwise Pictures:
