Kollu Sundal - full recipe with stepwise pictures and video. Kollu is one of the healthiest food. It is considered as a medicinal food in ayurvedic cuisine. It is rich in protein(20%).It is an excellent source of Iron, Molybdenum and Calcium. I don't like to eat horsegram but i would like to make rasam as it tastes better than the seeds. Ingredients:
Kollu/Horsegram - 1/2 cup
Sundal podi - 1 tsp
Salt
To Temper:
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Red chilli - 1
Method:
Soak 1/2 cup Kollu for 5 hours
Add the soaked kollu in a pressure cooker
Add required salt
Pressure Cook for 5 whistles and keep aside
Heat oil in a kadai and temper the items given under 'to temper'
Add the cooked kollu and saute well for 3 - 5 mins in low flame
Now add the sundal podi , mix well
Serve hot
With Stepwise Pictures:
