Carrot Beetroot Poriyal - full recipe with stepwise pictures and video. This is one of the easiest poriyal recipes that anyone can make easily . This sidedish is perfect for Vathakulambu, Rasam or even you can accompany with plain curd. I've made this a little spicy because both the carrot and beetroot has mild sweetness in it. Ingredients:
Carrot - 1
Beetroot - 1
Onion - 1
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt
Hot Water - 1/2 cup
To Temper:
Oil - 2 tsp
Mustard - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Channa dal - 1 tsp
Method:
Chop 1 beetroot into fine pieces
Chop 1 carrot into fine pieces
Heat oil in a kadai and add the items given under'to temper'
Add 1 onion chopped finely
Saute till it turns pink and soft
Now add the chopped beetroot and carrot , fry for 3 - 4 mins or till it turns glossy
Add 1/2 cup hot water and cook again till the water absorbs and veggies turn soft
Now the veggies turned soft and cooked well
Remove from flame and serve hot
