Aval Kesari - Full recipe with stepwise pictures and video. Aval Kesari is one of the easiest sweet recope. Usually my mom makes this in fridays for Neivedhyam and also in festival days like Krishna ayanthi, Vinayagar Chathurthi and Pongal. This is very tastier and easier to make. Even beginners can make this sweet easily. Use the exact measurements i used here, you can double the measurement if you want more keasri. Try this recipe and let me know the results. Ingredients:
Aval/Poha - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 3 tbsp
Water - 3/4 cup
Cardamom - 3
Cashewnut - 5 -6
RAisins - 10
Ghee - 2 tsp

Method:

  1. Heat 2 tsp ghee in  a pan
  2. Add the cashews and fry
  3. Add the raisins and keep frying
  4. Once the cashews and raisins have fried well remove from flame
  5. In the same pan add 1/2 cup poha and fry well for 2 - 3 minutes without changing the colour
  6. After 2 minutes add 3/4 cup water 
  7. Mix well, cover and cook till the water absorbs
  8. Stir in between to avoid sticking to the bottom
  9. After 5 - 6 minutes the poha has cooked softly
  10. Mix once and  add 3 tbsp sugar
  11. Mix well
  12. The sugar starts to melt and the mixture will be watery, don't panic the water will be absorbed quickly
  13. Now add ghee fried cashews , raisins and crushed cardamoms to the mixture
  14. After 2- 3 minutes the mixture starts to leave the pan
  15. Remove from flame and serve hot
