Ingredients:
Whole Urad dal - 1/4 kg
Pepper - 1 tsp
Hing - 1/2 tsp
Rock salt
Red chili - 50gms
Oil - 1 tbsp

Method:
Heat a kadai and add whole urad dal
Fry well till it turns crisp[don't let it burn]
After 7 minutes the dal has fried well, remove from flame
Now add pepper and fry till it splutters
Once it splutters ...remove from flame
Add rock salt and fry for few seconds, remove immediately
Now add oil followed by hing
Fry till it puffs up and remove from flame
Add chilli and fry for few minutes
Remove from flame without burning it
Cool everything
Add to a blender
Grind to coarse to fine powder
Spicy and colorful idli podi is ready to serve
