Masala Atta Dosa - full recipe with stepwise pictures and video. What's for breakfast? - a common & regular question in Indian homes. Though we know a lot of recipes, there's always a confusion while making breakfast. Atta/Wheat flour dosa, we make atleast once in a week as my father is a heart patient. I always make special recipes for my father which is healthy and tasty. One such recipe is this atta dosa. There are a lot of variations in atta dosa, this is very different , new and unique. Recipe Video:
Ingredients:
Atta/Wheatflour - 2 cups
Salt
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Water - as required
Coriander - 1 tbsp
Oil
To grind (i)
Onion - 1
Pepper - 1 tsp[soaked]
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp[soaked]
Fennel seeds - 1 tsp[soaked]
Ginger - 2 pieces
Garlic - 2 pods
Green chilli - 1 small
To grind(ii)
Tomato - 1
Method:
In a mixing bowl add 2 cups atta/wheat flour
Add salt
Now add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Mix well
Gradually add water and mix to a smooth batter
Keep aside
In a small blender add the items given under 'To grind (i)':
Add 1 onion
Soak 1 tsp pepper for 30  minutes in water and add it to the blender
Soak 1 tsp each of cumin and fennel seeds for 30 minutes and add it to the blender
Add 2 pieces ginger and 2 garlic pods
Add 1 small green chilli
Grind to a smooth paste
In another blender add 1 tomato
Grind to puree
Add the ground paste to the batter
Add little water and mix well
Add a tbsp of finely chopped coriander leaves
Mix well, the batter should be in flowing consistency
Rub an onion in a hot tawa
Pour a ladle full of batter
Gently spread the batter
Add oil around the dosa and cook for a minute
Once it is cooked, gently take off the sides and flip to the other side
Cook for a minute and remove from flame
Healthy breakfast is ready to serve, serve with chutney or gravy
