Rava Kozhukattai - an easy and authentic sweet recipe with stepwise pictures.Rava Kozhukattai is a new recipe for me. Vinayagar Chathurthi is on the way, it's time to prepare things for pooja and recipes.  We always used to pre- plan whenever a festival is on. Only 2 days more for Chathurthi we are making all the preparations. For a long time this recipe is in my to try list. And today I tried Sweet Rava Kozhukattai, this is the first time I'm trying this recipe , I already got thumbs up from my family. My friend sent this recipe to me, i tried and it came out excellent, so I thought to share this recipe with you.

 Coconut - 1 cup

 Jaggery - 1/2 cup

 Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp

 Dry ginger/ sukku podi - 1/4 tsp

Method:

Heat a pan and add the items given under 'for stuffing' and sauté well till the mixture gets thick  and jaggery melts

Divide into equal sized balls and keep aside

In a heated pan and roast rava till the raw smell goes and it gets crisp ( not brown )

In a pan boil water and add items 'for outer dough' except rava and wait till it comes to a roaring boil,
Then add rava mix and switch off the stove , close with a lid and wait till all the moisture is absorbed

Take the dough and knead it with your hands once you handle the heat until it's soft

Make equal sized balls, Take a ball , shape like a cup or make it flat and place the stuffing inside it and make into a ball without cracks

Place all the balls in steamer and steam it for 5 - 10 mins
