Tapioca Adai|aravallikizhangu Adai - full recipe with stepwise pictures and video. Maravallikizhangu Adai is one of the healthiest breakfast which will keep you full for a long time. There are large varieties of dish can be prepared by tapioca i've tried this recipe today as there was out of stock of idli batter. So i made this adai and served with coconut chutney. Ingredients:
Tapioca - 1 [mecium size]
Channa dal - 1 cup
Idli rice - 1 cup
Red chilli - 3
Fennel seeds - 1tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Water - as required
Curry leaves - 1 spring
Garlic - 5 [crushed]
Onion - 2
Green chilli - 2
Ginger - 1 tsp chopped
Oil
Method:
Take a medium sized tapioca approximately 1/2 kg
Soak 1 cup channa dal for 2 hours
Soak 1 cup idli rice for 2 hours
Soak red chilli and fennel for 15 minutes
Add the soaked rice to a blender and grind well without adding water
Now add soaked chilli and fennel seeds and grind again without adding water
Grate the tapioca
Add it to the blender and grind without adding water
Now the tapioca start to release its water
Now add chana dal along with turmeric powder and grind without adding water
Without adding water the ground paste will be like this
Transfer this to a bowl
Add 1 spring curry leaves
Add 5 garlic crushed
Add the chopped onions, chilli and ginger
Mix well
Heat a tawa add a ball of dough to the tawa and spread with your palms
Add a tsp of oil and cook each side for 3 - 4 minutes
Flip to the other side and cook well
Once both the sides are cooked well, remove from flame
